GLP-1-SM is a 31-amino-acid synthetic analogue of glucagon-like peptide-1 with an Aib substitution at position 8 and a C18 fatty-diacid side chain attached through a spacer at lysine 26, which extends plasma half-life through albumin binding. It is a selective GLP-1 receptor agonist used in preclinical research on incretin signalling and energy metabolism.

Why the powder travels well
Freeze-drying (lyophilization) removes the water from a peptide under low pressure and leaves a dry cake that is far more stable than a solution. That is why sealed vials can ship without refrigeration and go into cold storage when they arrive.
